London-wide NUT Reps Meeting
Wednesday 29th January
6:00pm – 8:00pm
Elvin Hall
Institute of Education
Bedford Way WC1H 0AL
Dear colleagues,
The London-wide NUT Reps meeting on Wednesday will give us a chance to hear from NUT members in schools who are about to take strike action.
At STEM 6 Free School in Islington NUT members will be taking strike action on Thursday against the imposition of what is effectively a “zero-hours” contract and the refusal of the school management to recognise the Union.
We will hear a speaker from this dispute and others in the region – we will also hear from schools where the threat of strike action has won a pay policy in line with the NUT requirements.
Please come along and show your support for these colleagues and join the discussion about how we can build union organisation and confidence in London schools.
The meeting will also have an update on the national pay campaign, ahead of Thursday’s Executive meeting, and discuss how we can build for national strike action.
This is an important meeting and I hope you will be able to come along and encourage others to attend.
I look forward to seeing you there.
