I hope we can get a good attendance for the London-wide Reps meeting on January 29th.
As well as reporting on the latest situation in the national campaign we want to have a discussion about how we can organise and build the confidence of members in schools.
The NUT has just given notice of strike action over contracts at STEM 6 Free School in Islington and we will have a speaker about this – this is a very significant dispute and we need to do everything we can to show support for members there.
We will also have a speaker from Warren Comprehensive School in Barking and Dagenham who have successfuly challenged Michael Gove in the High Court over his forced academy plan.
There are a number of schools where the NUT has issued notice of action against bad policies and we will have details of these at the meeting.
The meeting on Wednesday gives us a real opportunity to build on our successes and do some organising at grassroots level – please come along and bring some reps from your association.
