First of all thank you to everyone for the work you put in to build today’s demonstration and a special thanks to all those who helped with stewarding and other tasks.
Today was yet another truly inspirational show of strength by London teachers – numbers possibly in excess of 12,000 – to get a sense of the length see this map which shows how far back the march stretched once we arrived at the rally venue. The BIGGEST ever march in London by Teachers marching alone!
Many people I spoke to afterwards said they had more people than ever from their school on the march and BBC London are reporting over 75% of schools were affected by the action.
I’ve heard positive reports from elsewhere, including Bristol which Kevin Courtney said was really uplifting.
Ahead of next week’s NUT Executive meeting it would be good to get reports and feedback from associations on the strike and demonstration, which I could send to Executive members.
Before that though, put your feet up for a few hours and reflect on another job well done.
