Don’t waiver – strike tomorrow

There are a small number of members considering attending school tomorrow to avoid losing a day’s pay, whilst this is understandable, I want to argue that this would not be a good move for those members and the union at your school. The union gets its strength from taking action and a union is made up of its members taking action together, everything that we take for granted (holidays/sick pay etc) was all won in the past through members taking action.

Tomorrow it’s London’s turn on other days it will be other Regions turns and you will be working. Members from all over the country are looking to us tomorrow to take action in numbers. The action you took last year won you £000’s back in concessions not bad for two days without pay. If you do not strike you are asking your colleagues to take action for you. You are being robbed of 000,000s by this government, each day we take action we then win some of it back. I will see you all on the demo @11 am @ UCU malet
